Vincent is a new soul, too, reflective of today's cinematic trends and styles. Not too many young film makers have such insight into culture nor social interaction nor humor. It's intuitive on his part, and it surfaces in his work. Whether he is writing, acting, producing or working tech, Vincent's spirit affects the work throughout, and the work becomes a part of him. Vincent holds a BA in Communications and Media Arts from Western Connecticut State University.

Frank S. Petrilli (founding partner & creative director) has a love of film as most people have a love of music. He eats and breathes plot, character and dialogue; both stage and screen. His passion for story telling comedic and tragic, via the dramatic arts, is all consuming and nostalgic - almost to a fault. He communicates in theatrical terms, draws comparisons with cinematic imagery and always thinks two scenes ahead. If Jason Chester is the Mind of the DERELICT Films, and Vincent Kulish the Soul, Frank is definitely the Heart -- pumping, rhythmic, supportive of everyone else, and ever in motion. He is the Director of Development at Hurricane Development, former Head Writer for AJ Creative Media and also the former Business Manager of Hylen Sharp Advertising.

About the founding partners

"In a sense, every film is a series of highly improbable events that only look logical after the fact. When you see how it all comes together, you say, 'Well, of course, it had to be that way.' "

– Walter Murch

DERELICT FIlms is an award winning, low-budget Independent Film partnership specializing in "Art House meets Grind House" features.

Jason Chester (founding partner) has a constant statement that he mutters, and that is "I have to think about it." He is a film maker that is truly mindful of his work; mindful of the genre, the theme and style of what he is creating. His focus is sharp, and his depth of field is deep. When he can't see things clearly, he'll find the vision that sits before him, enveloped in the tapestry of the design. A skilled artist and illustrator, as well, for Jason the "devil is in the details." It's cloaked in the shot, buried in camera movement, or hidden behind the cause and effect of character and action. The camera is his paint brush; lenses are his colors. His perspective, either forced or real, is always true to himself as it is for the film he is creating. Jason studied at the School of Visual Arts, New York City.

Vincent Kulish (founding partner) has a wisdom about film making that exceeds his age; it lives in his soul; a soul that might be made of Kubrick's '70's work, '80's slasher movies, '90's CGI and the graphic novel inspired films of the 2000 years.
